Some first international half and full marathon races took part in different continents with the Lagos Marathon in Nigeria, the Buriram Marathon in Thailand and the Miami Marathon in the United States.
In Miami besides the marathon a half marathon with more Elite athletes than in the main event was realized. Ecuador’s Angela Brito was fighting against many other strong southamerican ladies and managed to finished in a good 6th position. As a test before one or two other half marathons in the next month and a marathon in late-spring she was satisfied with her result.
In Buriram in Thailand, an IAAF Bronze Label Race, Immaculate Chemutai of Uganda ran a new national record. As Thailand mostly was known for difficult climate conditions the weather was almost perfect in this febuary sunday and she used the conditions to run a great PB with 2:32:41.
