Place of training: Kapkitony, Kenya

Description: Purity is a real marathon lady, always looking for the next big challenge and very experienced, with more than 12 finished marathons behind her. Even at difficult events– like the Iten Marathon in her hometown of Kenya (2:37), the humid Macau Marathon in China or the hot Lagos Marathon– she managed to present amazing results. This, in combination with her quick half marathon time of 71 minutes, shows that she is capable of a lot more and makes us excited to see what her future holds.


Name: Peter Limo

Nationality: KEN

Birth Year: 1994

Place of training: Kimumu, Kenya

Description: In the past, Peter ran track distances, but has since switched to road races. Nowadays, he will run anything from a 5k to a half marathon. He has been very successful in the last years, as he managed to run a half marathon in 61 minutes in Morocco and 10k in 28 minutes in Hamburg.  He also performed well after being invited to the 15k race in Kabarak, a race often used by running coaches to scout future athletes.  In the future, Peter will definitely continue to benefit from his past track career, running even faster times and perhaps even making his marathon debut.

Place of training: San Salvador, El Salvador

Description: From trail runs to ultramarathons, Idelma had already run races for several years when she came to vitafit running, seeing the potential to take her running to a more serious level. She has already finished two marathons and now has hopes to qualify for the Olympics, through a specific quota allotted for runners from smaller countries. She has already participated in the World Cross Country Championships and took the title at the Central American Cross-Country Championships in 2020.

Birth Year: 1988

Place of training: Toluca, Mexico and Sululta, Ethiopia

Description: Our fast marathon runner is well-known around the world, and not just for his open and sociable character. Julius is always open to new ideas and on the hunt for inspiration for his personal training. He trains in Mexico and Ethiopia.  Due to his impressive number of won marathons, his personal best time of 2:09 and his experiences at major marathons (such as Hong-Kong, Shanghai and Los Angeles), we believe that Julius has not yet reached his limit and that he can achieve real world-class times in the future.


Name: Moses Kibet

Nationality: UGA

Birth Year: 1991

Place of training: Suam, Uganda

Description: As one of Uganda’s strongest half marathon runners and with a time of 60 Moses qualified for the world championships with a third place in the Ugandan trials.  In addition to his first appearances in championship races for the Ugandan national team, he holds the Ugandan national half marathon record and is very motivated.   His second place in the competitive Eldoret Half Marathon further confirms his abilities.


Name: Ruth Bosibori

Birth Year: 1988

Place of training: Chepkoilel, Kenya

Description: Ruth is one of vitafit running’s most important athletes. She is the world record holder in steeplechase, has participated in the Olympic Games and has been rewarded as Kenya’s Sports Personality of the Year: Her track career is world-class. . . Even in high altitudes, her first half marathons had times of 73-74, and proved that the transition to road races was the right decision for her. We are certain that we can expect amazing results from her in the future.


Name: Samuel Kimutai Kiptum

Nationality: KEN

Birth Year: 1990

Place of training: Iten, Kenya

Description: The always-happy Samuel is an experienced marathon runner who won the São Paulo and Ravenna marathons and additionally finished in good positions at Triest, Dublin and others. He is also not afraid of hot weather and hilly courses, as proven by his third and fourth place finishes in Skopje and Luxembourg.   Because of his dedicated training in a marathon group and his age, we are sure that his marathon career can continue to develop for around another decade.

Birth Year: 1989

Place of training: Iten, Kenya

Description: Ben is a Ugandan vitafit running athlete who trains in Kenya.  His times are great: 28 in the 10k and 61 in the half marathon. As a very disciplined athlete, he will continue to achieve great results in the future.


Name: Kepha Ondima Ongeri

Nationality: KEN

Birth Year: 1996

Place of training: Kaptagat, Kenya

Description: Kepha rocked almost all local races in Kenya in 2017 and 2018, always finishing in a top-3 position, in both cross country and road races. After a few races in China, he debuted in Europe, pacing the Zurich marathon and even finishing the race in third place.  Later on, he ran and paced road races in Germany, such as the Berlin Grand 10 and the Frankfurt Marathon.


Name: Yolimar Pineda

Nationality: VEN

Birth Year: 1985

Place of training: Valencia, Venezuela

Description: In terms of international championships, Yolimar is one of the more experienced marathon runners on vitafit’s team.  After winning the Ibero-American Championship, she then participated in the Olympics twice, in the World Championships and in other international competitions for her country.  She is frequently nominated for the national team.


Name: Anita Kiptum

Nationality: KEN

Birth Year: 1981

Place of training: Kaptagat, Kenya

Description: Always smiling, Anita Kiptum has had a great track career and is now ready to make the move to longer distances. After appearances in local half marathons in Kenya, she is now ready to run more marathons and to add some more years to her long career. Her positive attitude and hard training will help her on her way. She ran her first marathons in hot and/or hilly locations, such as Singapore and Luxembourg, and finished them like a real fighter.


Name: Immaculate Chemutai

Nationality: KEN

Birth Year: 1987

Place of training: Iten, Kenya

Description: Before joining vitafit running, Immaculate Chemutai ran smaller marathons for many years and will now concentrate on bigger races and the possibility to participate in Olympics, as female marathon runners in Uganda are still few. During her first year, with starts in Copenhagen and San Sebastián, she got more involved at bigger events. In early 2020, she finished with a personal best of 2:32:41 in Thailand, which was then the Ugandan national record.  Her next goal is to qualify for the Olympics, which she will work to achieve with the help of her group in Kenya, which includes other vitafit women and is coached by her husband.


Name: Faviola Saraí Pérez Igari

Birth Year: 1988

Place of training: Mexico City, Mexico

Description: A former law student at UNAM, Mexico’s largest university, Faviola is one of the key members of vitafit’s Mexican team.  She has been running marathons for a few years now, after a typical track and field career of middle-distance and long-distance races. She has also participated in international races for her country, and currently has her sights on running her first sub-2:40 marathon and on participating in smaller international championships, such as the Central American Games.


Name: Hildah Jepkogei Cheboi

Birth Year: 1991

Place of training: Iten, Kenya

Description: Having previously tried her luck with different managements, e Hilda made the switch to vitafit running to improve step-by-step and to reach her full potential at the marathon distance. After a first third place in a bronze-label race in 2019, she joined a group of other 2:30 female runners, including other vitafit athletes, in Iten and hopes to continue to show good times and good positions in the future.

Description: Having a 71 at the half marathon distance and a 2:33:50 at the marathon distance from recent years, Daisy is still in the best years of her long-distance career.  Training with a small, effective group in Kericho, she wants to further lower her times. Her great mood and motivation will help this personable athlete.

Description: Pushing his abilities in recent years, the still-young Kenneth has already run a 62 in the half marathon and finished second in his marathon debut, despite the difficult conditions in the Chinese race.   However, his current view is set on pacing and running more half marathons, as he has plenty of time left in his career.


Name: Gisella Álvarez Rivera

Birth Year: 1992

Place of training: Puerto Montt, Chile

Description: With times of 16 minutes in the 5000m and 33 in the 10000m, Gisella made the step to running marathons in 2018, winning the Marathon of Viña del Mar. This winqualified her for the Panamerican Games in 2019, where she participated in her first international competition. Before this competition, she had already collected 13 national titles.   She now focuses on more marathons and international races, and she made her European debut at the San Silvester Runs in Germany in 2019. She will run another marathon soon and looks toward a potential Olympic qualification in the future.

Description: Stephen Kibiwott proves that a distance running career can indeed last for a long time. While his fantastic personal best is already several years back, he came back with his 2:11:43 in the difficult Dongying Marathon in China, giving him the hope that running another sub-2:10 marathon is still possible in his future.


Name: Ezekiel Chepkorom

Birth Year: 1992

Place of training: Iten, Kenya

Description: With his 62 at the half marathon distance and his 2:12 at the marathon distance, Ezekiel Chepkorom is a bronze-label athlete who stands out in the emerging Ugandan distance runner scene. In the past, he mainly took pacing jobs, but, since joining vitafit, he has been motivated to run a fast marathon of his own soon.

Place of training: Bogotá, COL

Description: Having participated in the Olympics as well as in the World Championships, Erika has already had a fantastic and long marathon career, topped with her personal best and national record of 2:33:33. In the years following this career peak, she had many more sub-2:40 marathons, which motivates her to keep going with her career.


Name: Emmanuel Sikuku

Birth Year: 1993

Place of training: Iten, Kenya

Description: Emmanuel Sikuku is a very stable and consistent runner and has finished many marathons with 2:11 times. Furthermore, his 61 at the half marathon distance has given him the hope of running his first sub-2:10 times soon. He had top-5 positions in all of his last marathons– including Sofia, Linz and San Sebastián– and won the Kiel Half Marathon in Germany.

Place of training: Lyon, FRA

Description: Balancing running and a small job, Dieudonne is one of vitafit’s road race members, running distances between 5k and 25k. This is his first time working with professional management, and he hopes to further improve his 29 times at the 10k distance and his 65 times at the half marathon distance. His motivation is strong enough to carry him through these next big steps.

Place of training: Kabsabet, Kenya

Description: Moses Kurgat has a strong personal best of 2:09:30, and he has run well in hot places, like Ahmadabad and Lagos. After several years in South Africa, his focus is back on European and other international races, and he hopes to be able to chart sub-2:10 times again soon.


Name: René Eduardo Ortiz Morales

Nationality: MEX

Birth Year: 1989

Place of training: San Luis Potosi, MEX

Description: René is one of the faces of the class of strong, rising Mexican male marathon runners, which motivates all Mexican runners to try even harder. At his second marathon in Berlin, René improved by several minutes and dropped his time to 2:14:59, which inspired him to think about his next steps. His personal bests in the half and the 1000m are 63:50 and 29:36, respectively, and this potential shown in early 2020 will surely lead to a faster marathon time.  René is enthusiastic and goal orientated.
