In the Cityrun in Aschaffenburg, Lower Francony in Germany Giselle Alvarez Rivera finished on a fifth place in the women Elite category. The traditionally event is held over the unusual distance of 8km in a citycourse with 5 laps, overlapping, an up- and down-part as well as turns and an u-turn. So everything else than fast. Here it is about a good position. Spotting on the Top-3 before there was Maryam Jamal of Bahrain as a former 1500m Olympic-Champion as the favorite. However behind her everthing was open. Some of the local athletes suprised and ran incredible fast so that Giselle in the end finished 5th, a little bit out of the podium.
However her form was ok and she felt good and confident with the result, which was still inside the prize money.
