Two vitafit athletes were running races in Northamerica. While René Ortiz Morales was running in Mexico the Mexicali Half, Angela Brito was running The Woodlands Half Marathon in Texas.
The results of a first and a second place bring big hopes for the April and May Marathons of those two athletes.
René Ortiz was facing a couple of Kenyan runners at Mexicali where he hide behind in the leading group for the first half. In the second part of the race he overtook the pace finishing in the end in 64:46, one minute ahead of Kenyan Moses Gitau.
For the fact that nobody wanted to push the pace the time one minute over his PB from january confirmed his current shape and allows all for a good marathon.
In the flat The Woodlands Half Marathon Angela Janeth Brito of Ecuador had no chance against a strong winning lady of Texas but ran a good race with a second place in 78:05 what is much faster than expected at this point of time and a great improvement from her Half Marathon in Miami a month ago.
