vitafit running’s athletes were active on all surfaces at the weekend and tested their shape for later main events in half and full marathon in April and May.
As in most countries still an indoor season is ongoing, in Mexico already 10000m were run on track at the regional championships “Copa Nueva Leon”and vitafit’s René Eduardo Ortiz was catching up some more speed after his good half marathon in Houston.
Setting the pace for long in a group of three it came to a close finish within 6 sec between the first positions and René finished on a great third place. Finally he managed with 29:36 to have his first sub-30-time on 10000m track or 10k road.
Idelma Lizeth Delgado was invited to the internacional 10k race “Carrera de la Candeleria” in Costa Rica. Just one week after her Centralamerican Cross Country Title she had to be satisfied with a fourth place in 37:11 behind two Kenyans and one local athlete setting a new National Record.
At the Kenyan Cross Country Championships at the Ngong Race Course Ruth Bosibori had to be deal with a 45th place in the generally high-competitive race. However after her years of injuries her 5th place at her County Championships and the following qualification for the nationals was already a success and she will be back strong like before over this year.
