Danish weeks for vitafit Athletes

After the two men participating in the Copenhagen Half, the Danish weeks for vitafit running athletes going on with this time two ladies in the H.C. Andersen Marathon in Odense, the second fastest marathon in Scandinavia.

Seeing a strong ladies field with several Ethiopian and few Kenyan ladies the race started at favorable temperatures but with a risk of rain which came earlier than expected and catched the athletes around 25k for the first time.

While vitafit runnings Purity Kimetto had no optimal travel preparations and arrived very late the young Jerubet Perez ran the best race of her career so far. In her just second marathon she followed the guiding Ethiopians and their pacemaker not fearing a half way pace of 74:30, just a minute above her half marathon PB.

One of another lady could not follow the pace of the leading group and at 35k it seemed like the last remaining competitor went ahead. However Jerubet fighted and came back only three k later just passing the leading lady and the pacemaker doing her race till the finish line. In very good 2:30:49 she won suprisingly.

Her big moral, trust in her training and courage brought her to success.

Purity Kimettto finshed the marathon in position 7, taking out the pace after 30k because of the none perfect travel-conditions and will probably facing another marathon this autumn.
