Immaculate Chemutai ran a third marathon this year and improved her PB. After she set just within the limit of 2:29:30 the qualification for the Olympics in April the Olympic Marathon in August passed perfect for her with position 16. It was not the race for new PB’s but she ran a great time in the head. As the recovery went better than excpected she decided for a third marathon on a flat course to run even faster.
She reached the goal in the quite new Abu Dhabi Marathon. After chaos and a too short course at the first edition the third edition this year produced a quality event with good times, especially in the men’s race. The ladies race was a little bit less competitive but allowed Immaculate to finish in the top-3. With 2:28:30 she ran about a minute faster than in april in Siena and can close the most succesfull year of her career with a nice result.
At the same weekend vitafit runnings new candidate for the 2022 team Meshack Koech ran a half marathon in Nakuru. In the Kenyan capital of agriculture and also within altitude he set a good 62 min what gives big hopes for next year’s both – half marathon and marathon.
