The Eldoret City Marathon attracted severel hundret Elite Runners even after a change of date by two month. Due to the lack of big city marathons not only local athletes particpated. Athletes of the whole country found themselves at the starting line with some European Athletes and some other Africans like vitafit’s Ezekiel Chepkorom. Running 10k and half marathon races in the next weeks Ezekiel just used the race for a test and ran 18k with the front. After 53 min he left the race and did 3 more kilometres than planned.
The full distance was in plan of Emmanuel Sikuku. After one and a half years without a marathon vitafit runnings most constant marathoner did finish also that race. His time of 2:16 in altitude can be seen like 2:11 times at sealevel and are exactly his level of the last years. So Sikuku managed to stay in the same shape like 2019 even without races the whole last year.
His Position in the more than competitive field was 24 and the only small point which made him a little bit disappointed as the prize money was announced till position 20.
